A celebrant-led ceremony is a beautiful, personal celebration of your commitment, but it is not currently a legally binding contract in the UK. For your marriage to be recognised by law, you’ll just need to complete the simple legal formalities at a registry office. Think of the registry office as the 'paperwork' and our ceremony as the 'wedding.'"

-
A registrar is a local authority official who focuses on the legal marriage or civil partnership contract; their script is often fixed and restricted by law regarding religious or spiritual content.
As an Independent Celebrant, I am focused on you. I spend time getting to know you to create a bespoke ceremony that is entirely personal. Unlike a registrar, whom you may only meet minutes before the ceremony, we will have worked closely together for months to ensure everything is perfect."
-
Yes, I am available to officiate ceremonies any day of the week, including Fridays and Saturdays. Since these are the most popular days for weddings, especially during the summer months, I recommend reaching out as soon as you have your date to ensure I can give you my exclusive availability.
-
While it is possible if the venue has a licensed room, I usually recommend completing the legalities a few days before or after. The lead-up to your ceremony should be about excitement and connection, not rushing through paperwork with an official. Separating the two allows you to stay present and fully enjoy the 'main event' (before and immediately after) without any logistical stress.
-
A Humanist Celebrant typically conducts ceremonies from a non-religious perspective. As an Independent Celebrant, I have the flexibility to include whatever elements you wish—whether that’s religious traditions, spiritual rituals (like a Chuppah or breaking the glass), or a completely secular ceremony. You have total creative freedom.
-
Of course. If you would prefer a ceremony that is entirely secular and focused solely on your personal story, values, and love for one another, I would be honored to craft that for you. As an Independent Celebrant, the 'rulebook' is yours to write."
-
While having a friend 'officiate' can seem like a budget-friendly option, there is a significant difference in the experience. As a professional Celebrant, I bring expert script-writing skills, a calm presence to manage any 'on-the-day' nerves, and the experience to coordinate with your other vendors. I also provide full insurance and a professional guarantee that your story will be told with the dignity and polish it deserves, allowing your friends to simply enjoy being guests.
-
Distance is no object when it comes to a beautiful ceremony. While I am based in London, I regularly travel across the UK and internationally to join couples wherever their story takes them.
I have had the pleasure of officiating in a diverse range of settings—from the sun-drenched Mediterranean coast to breathtaking inland villas, rustic vineyards, and historic European cities.
Whether you are planning a celebration in the English countryside, a hidden gem in Europe, or are looking to head even further afield, I am always delighted to discuss the logistics of traveling to be part of your day.
-
I certainly do. I am a proud supporter of marriage equality and love working with all couples to celebrate their commitment. Regardless of gender or orientation, my goal remains the same: to tell your unique love story with warmth, dignity, and joy.
-
Don't feel pressured to choose a 'classic' poem if it doesn't speak to you. I provide a curated collection of readings—ranging from contemporary literature to song lyrics and philosophy—to help inspire you. We look for pieces that echo your relationship’s tone, whether that’s lighthearted and humorous or deeply sentimental.
-
Why choose? Many couples love to include both. We can create a moment for the signing of a beautiful, personal Ketubah (marriage contract) and still include the exchange of spoken vows. I can help you balance these elements so the ceremony flows beautifully and honours both the ancient traditions and your modern promises.
In terms of the format you wish the vows to take, for your ceremony, choose the style that best suits your personality. If you are anxious about speaking in public, you may want your vows posed to you in the form of a question. For example, when asked if you promise to love and cherish your partner, you simply respond with “Yes!” or “ I do!”
An alternative would be for me to ask you to recite a traditional form of words which I give you. Eg, “I, [Name] take you [Name] to be my wife/husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part.
Or perhaps you love the idea of writing your own vows and reciting them directly to each other at the wedding ceremony without either of you hearing or seeing them ahead of time. I can help you to construct these vows.
-
Absolutely. One of the greatest joys of an independent celebrant-led wedding is the ability to blend traditions. Whether you wish to combine Jewish customs—like the Chuppah or the breaking of the glass—with another cultural heritage, or simply include secular readings that resonate with you, we can weave them together seamlessly. Your ceremony should be a true reflection of both of you.
-
Most bespoke ceremonies last between 25 and 45 minutes, depending on the number of readings, rituals, and the length of your vows. During our planning process, we will time everything perfectly so the ceremony feels substantial and heartfelt without ever feeling rushed or overlong.
-
The process is simple. Once we’ve had our initial consultation and you have communicated to me that you’re ready to move forward, I will send you a booking form and my Terms & Conditions.
A deposit is required to secure your date exclusively in my diary. Once that’s done, the price is fixed, and we can begin the exciting work of crafting your ceremony
-
Completely. I treat every couple’s story with the utmost respect and discretion. While I may ask for your permission to share a photo or a snippet of your ceremony on my website or social media after the event, nothing is shared without your explicit consent.
-
Your privacy is paramount. You can view my full [Privacy Policy] here. As part of our booking process, I will also provide a simple consent form to ensure we are communicating in the way you prefer.
-
Yes. For your peace of mind and the requirements of most venues, I hold £2m Public Liability Insurance and £1m Professional Indemnity Insurance.
-
I understand that plans can change. My cancellation policy is clearly outlined in the Terms & Conditions provided at the time of booking. It is designed to be fair to both parties, ensuring that any work already completed is covered while giving you clarity on how to proceed should your circumstances change.
